Bio:

Dr. Matthew Cavalli is Western Michigan University associate dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. He joined WMU in 2018. Cavalli oversees the college's STEM Talent Expansion Program program and the advising office and helps coordinate undergraduate academic activities throughout the college. He also teaches courses in the areas of materials science, composite materials, and solid mechanics. Before joining WMU in 2018, he worked for 14 years as a faculty member, department chair and assistant/associate dean at the University of North Dakota.  

Cavalli is a registered professional engineer in North Dakota and Michigan. He is active in the American Society for Engineering Education and regularly publishes in the areas of materials behavior, solid mechanics and engineering education.
