WMU Community Invitation – Canadiana Fest CanAm Peace Jam
Western Michigan University students, staff, and the Kalamazoo community are invited to join the Canadiana Fest CanAm Peace Jam, a vibrant, immersive celebration of Canada’s founding cultures: Indigenous, French, and British Commonwealth heritage.
This third annual festival offers:
- 🎵 Live Canadian music across genres
- 🍟 Poutine, Canadian beer, and other cultural foods
- 🏒 Canadian sports skills workshops with WMU Athletics, local coaches, and Premier Athletics
- 🪘 Cultural experiences – Genealogy, Indigenous traditions, step dancing workshops
- 🗣 Multilingual and accessible programming – Sign Language interpretation, auditory QR codes, mobility access
- 📜 Presentations by subject matter experts on Canadian history and culture
