Allison Mezo recognized as Michigan’s 2025 Outstanding Health Care Clinician
KALAMAZOO, Mich—Allison Mezo, M.A., CCC-SLP, a dedicated speech-language pathologist and clinic coordinator of the Aphasia Communication Enhancement (ACE) Program at Western Michigan University, has been honored with the 2025 Outstanding Clinician Award by the Michigan Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA).
Allison specializes in neurorehabilitation and is a passionate advocate for the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia (LPAA). Through storytelling and meaningful engagement, she empowers individuals with aphasia to rediscover their voices and reconnect with their lives. In addition to her clinical work, Allison plays a vital role in education—supervising speech-language pathology students in the aphasia clinic as they engage in experience-driven learning.
