A thoughtful transformation is underway at Western Michigan University’s historic Oaklands Residence.
New geological repository expands essential geoscience research capabilities at WMU
Western Michigan University and the Michigan Geological Survey broke ground on a 20,000-square-foot facility for the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education. This $8 million project, supported by state funding, aims to enhance research capabilities and provide students with Experience-Driven Learning opportunities in geoscience, positioning Michigan as a leader in sustainable resource management and climate resilience initiatives.
Safety-focused redesign will close Oliver Lane/Oakland Drive intersection
Oliver Lane is set to become a no-outlet street this summer, no longer connecting to Oakland Drive, with construction beginning after commencement.
