Residence Halls

Hi Broncos,

Room change requests open Thursday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. Options are limited, so please read carefully before making a request.

Eligibility

  • You must qualify for the space you want.
  • Example:  Continuing students cannot move into Western Heights.
  • Empty double rooms require two people moving in together. Both need to be present to sign up and pick up keys.

Room Types

  • Single rooms
    • Not available in Western Heights.
    • Already in a single? No action needed.
    • Living in a double without a roommate? You can pay to keep it as a single before another student is assigned. [Cost info online here].

  • Double rooms
    • Living alone in a double room is not the same as having a single. A roommate can still move in at any time.
      • If your room isn’t ready for a roommate, you may be charged for a single and face conduct review (see Room Consolidation Policy, page 9 of the Housing contract).
      • Keep all of your belongings off your roommate’s side of the room (bed, desk, dresser, closet).
      • Expect a roommate unless you’ve paid for a single. You may not get advance notice. Once someone is assigned, you cannot buy the room as a single.

How to Request a Room Change

  • Email the hall director of the building you want to move into.
    • If you want to buy-out your current double as a single, contact your hall director. They’ll walk you through next steps.
    • Roommate conflicts do not automatically qualify for a room change. Each situation is different, so speak to your hall director. You may be asked to complete roommate mediation and/or an online roommate living module in E-Learning.

Please reach out to hall staff of the building you want to live in with any questions.
