Established in 2011, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Western Michigan University plays an important role in our community by offering affordable, noncredit courses, events, and educational trips for mature adults. Staying active—whether through academic pursuit, physical exercise, or social connection—is vital to health and happiness at every stage of life.
Our vision is to be the leading provider of distinctive lifelong learning opportunities in Southwest Michigan. As a primarily volunteer-run organization, we rely on the generosity of our members and community supporters to thrive.
In 2015, in recognition of the program’s strength and promise, the Bernard Osher Foundation awarded OLLI at WMU a prestigious $1 million gift to establish an endowment. Only interest from this endowment may be used each year to support operations. However, endowment interest, membership dues, and modest course fees are not sufficient to make the program fully self-sustaining.
Your contributions help enrich the lives of adults across Southwest Michigan by expanding access to high-quality lifelong learning opportunities. Becoming an OLLI supporter is easy!
