Kalamazoo, the home of WMU’s main campus, is midway between Chicago and Detroit and one hour south of Grand Rapids. Kalamazoo offers commercial transportation by train, bus and major airline.
WMU has a regional location in Grand Rapids. The WMU College of Aviation is located at the W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek.
Getting to main campus
To get to the University’s main campus, take Interstate 94 to exit 74 North onto U.S. Route 131. Travel 2.8 miles on U.S. 131 N to Stadium Drive East, exit 36. From there, use the directions below for popular destinations on the University’s main campus and its Parkview Campus. You can also get turn-by-turn directions to or from any building using WMU campus maps.
Student Center
From US-131, head east on Stadium Dr for 2.3 miles. Turn left onto Howard St and drive 0.9 miles. Turn right onto Goldsworth Valley Dr and then turn left onto Ring Road N. Follow Ring Road N for 0.5 miles; turn left onto Central Campus Dr. Follow the road to the top of the hill and turn left into Lot 41.
To get from Lot 41 to the Student Center, enter Sangren Hall and cut through the middle of the building. After exiting Sangren Hall, you'll find yourself in Sangren Plaza, facing the Student Center. The main entrance (second floor) is directly across the plaza; the front desk is located just inside the doors.
Admissions Welcome Center
Housed within the Student Center is the Admissions Welcome Center. Follow the above directions to the Student Center and use the main entrance. The Admissions Welcome Center is immediately inside the second-floor entrance on the right side of the front desk.

Fetzer Center
On Stadium Drive, continue east about 2.2 miles to Howard Street. Turn left on Howard Street to West Michigan Avenue and right on West Michigan Avenue. Follow the traffic circle left to Ring Road North, and turn right on Business Court.

Lawson Ice Arena
On Stadium Drive, continue east about 2.2 miles to Howard Street. Turn left on Howard Street, right on Western Avenue, turn left on Ring Road South and left again onto Lawson Drive. The Lawson complex is straight ahead.

On Stadium Drive, continue east about 2.2 miles to Howard Street. Turn left on Howard Street, make the first right turn onto Western Avenue, make the first left onto Ring Road South, and make the next right (Theatre Drive) to Miller Auditorium.

On Stadium Drive, continue east to the first intersection off U.S. 131, Drake Road. Turn right on Drake Road straight to Parkview Campus.

Valley Residence Halls
On Stadium Drive, continue east about 2.5 miles to Oliver Street. Turn left on Oliver Street. Turn right onto Ring Road South, then left onto West Michigan Avenue and right onto Ring Road North. Follow Ring Road North to the Valley Residence Halls. At the four-way stop sign, go straight on Valley 1 Drive to reach the Ackley/Shilling and Britton/Hadley residence halls. Turn left to continue on Ring Road North, and turn right on Valley 2 Drive to reach the Garneau/Harvey and Eicher/LeFevre residence halls.
