Bio:

Katie Marshall (Holland) is a Faculty Specialist II at Western Michigan University, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity, serves as Faculty Advisor to the Bronco Cybersecurity Club RSO, and is the STEM Faculty Fellow for the Office of Faculty Development. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Economics from Western Michigan University and went on to earn an MBA with a concentration in CIS and a Master’s of Science in Information Security. An educator recognized for outstanding teaching, mentoring, and service, Katie develops and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in multiple modalities, including HyFlex and online formats. Her areas of interest include pedagogical approaches, project-based learning, curriculum development, integration of pop culture into higher education technology-centric courses, and Cybersecurity with a focus on sociological factors, ethics, and infrastructure challenges.  She has presented on topics such as cloud forensic challenges, information security trends, AI phishing in cybersecurity, and pop culture pedagogy.
