Western Michigan University Professor Dr. Larry Mallak will lead a collaboration with the American Society for Engineering Management to provide management training throughout the world.

Each year, faculty members from across the University select the most outstanding senior in their nearly 50 academic schools, departments and programs to represent their unit as a WMU Presidential Scholar. This year, scholars were chosen from a senior class of 4,748 students.

WMU advertising student teams gained relevant experience creating potential campaign strategies for the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, which was seeking fresh takes on connecting with Gen Z consumers.

A group of 18 Western students had the opportunity to learn about global sustainability on a recent Sustainability in India study abroad trip. Highlights of the trip included visits to Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations and connections with students from India.

Third-year WMU interior design student Carlee Castle and her team won first place in the 2023 IIDA Michigan Chapter ThinkUp Student Design Competition, a juried design charette competition.
