The Professional Staff Association of Western brings together salaried/exempt staff from across Western Michigan University. Through events, recognition programs, service opportunities and campus involvement, PSAW helps members build relationships and feel more connected to the WMU community.

Membership is $15 per year. Eligible staff receive a complimentary membership during their first year at Western.

Who can join? 

Any salaried/exempt staff member in Western Michigan University’s Staff Compensation System is eligible for membership.

What does membership cost?

Annual dues are $15.

Are new employees eligible for complimentary membership? 

Yes. Eligible salaried/exempt staff receive complimentary PSAW membership during their first year at Western.

How can I pay?

Payroll deduction is the easiest and recommended payment method. Payment by check is also available.

Other membership questions

For new members, dues will be processed upon receipt of your membership form.

For renewing members using payroll deduction, renewal notices are sent in June and annual dues are processed in July.

Memberships paid through payroll deduction are eligible for automatic annual renewal. PSAW will send a renewal notice in June before dues are processed in July.

Members paying by check will receive a renewal notice and will need to submit a new membership form and payment.

Membership dues support PSAW programs and activities, including member gatherings, the Spring Awards Luncheon, meetings and member engagement efforts. The PSAW Executive Board reviews and approves the use of membership funds.
